Approaching 25 Years

Baby Fingers was established in 2000 – a year I remember discussing with friends in high school. It was ‘The year 2000.’ It was so far in our future, we could hardly fathom it. Now, almost 25 years beyond that point, I am reflecting on such powerful developments, connections and memories throughout my time as a small business owner, as a parent, as an educator and therapist in the community. Baby Fingers was built on the foundation of my work as a music therapist and teacher of the Deaf – initially designed within my master’s thesis and further developed during the early days of parenting, as well as in my work with thousands of children and families over the years. I am delighted when families return to our programs with their 2nd and 3rd children, when their first kids grow with us throughout our various offerings, when people stop me on the sidewalk to express appreciation for and reminisce about their experiences at Baby Fingers.

So as we prepare to embark on 2025, we are celebrating so much. Yes, I have a picture book coming out! After 7 sign language books for kids, I’ve been wanting to write some children’s stories and will finally be launching my first in what I hope will be a series. Look out for The Muggy Buggy Day – an Adventures with Opal story. We will also have something special to announce, share, give away, etc. at various times throughout 2025 and hope to gather as a community to connect or re-connect. Stay tuned and stay in touch.
