In light of Covid-19, our in-person trainings have been put on hold. Ask us about virtual training sessions and stay tuned for 2021 dates.
Join us for our third annual training and certification retreat open to professionals around the globe! Learn our curriculum to begin your own Baby Fingers program outside of the NY metro area; adopt our unique methodology to enrich the work you already do in your practice; become an independent contractor for Baby Fingers within or outside of the NY metro area. Day 1, 9:00am – 5:00pm Introduction, Background, Methodology and Content training for ALL attendees.
Day 2, 9:30 – 4:30pm Continued training and certification to start your own Baby Fingers company outside of the NYC metro area.
Refreshments provided throughout the weekend.
Baby Fingers offers the following training programs:
1 – Certification as a Baby Fingers provider, bringing our unique programs to your area:
Content & Materials Highlights:
- Class management and safety
- Baby Fingers Curriculum – including ASL vocabulary, song repertoire, etc.
- Tips for running a business
- Understanding Deaf culture, early childhood development, and parenting philosophies
- Baby Fingers mission and philosophy
- Syllabus/lesson plans, webinars, class handouts
- BF products at discount
- Marketing resources, logo, business plan, licensing agreement.
Expectations –
With successful completion of this Baby Fingers certification training, you’ll be prepared to begin your own, independent Baby Fingers program outside the NY Metro area. Why reinvent the wheel? Bring a branded program to your community. With licensing agreements and periodic renewals, you’ll have access to the Baby Fingers logo and name, curriculum support, opportunity to link your classes & website on ours, schedule support and/or on-line training from our NYC office.
2 – Certification in the Baby Fingers methodology, enriching programs you offer in your studios or schools:
Content –
- Choosing ASL vocabulary for various age groups
- Song repertoire, Games, and/or Yoga poses for various age groups
- Tips and methodology for signing songs
- Tips and methodology for incorporating ASL with yoga poses or infant massage
- Understanding Deaf culture, early childhood development, parenting philosophies
- Baby Fingers mission and philosophy
For YOGA work, please be prepared to show proof of RYT 200; for INFANT MASSAGE, please be prepared to show proof of CEIM or CIMI.
Expectations –
With successful completion of this Baby Fingers certification training, you’ll be ready to bring sign language and other aspects of the Baby Fingers methodology into your current classes and programs outside of the NY metro area. You’ll be able to proudly boast that you’re trained in the Baby Fingers methodology and schedule support and/or on-line training from our NYC office.
3 – Training as a Baby Fingers teacher (IC), expanding our reach within and beyond the NYC Metro area:
Content –
- Class management and safety
- Incorporating ASL & songs with yoga poses and/or infant massage strokes depending on trainee background
- BF curriculum & lesson plans
- Understanding Deaf culture and history of ASL/current trends in language, technology and related controversies
- Understanding of early childhood development and various parenting philosophies
- Baby Fingers mission and philosophy
Expectations –
Successful completion of Baby Fingers teacher training program to become a Baby Fingers Independent Contractor (IC). IC agreement must be signed and fee for service is negotiated. Payment per class taught or program led begins once you are assigned to your own classes (or begin to sub). ICs in and out of the area are provided with the curriculum and materials needed to teach Baby Fingers classes, as well as on-going live or on-line support from our NYC staff. Class name and promotional materials must include Baby Fingers, our logo, and a link to our website.
