Baby Fingers teachers come together with other professionals in the world of arts, language, kids, ASL/Deaf culture and camping to provide you a safe summer space filled with silver linings – friendship, fun, new skills and loads of memories.
Virtual Summer Camp runs June 29th – August 22nd and includes programs for tots through teens. Check our calendar for schedule and registration details.
If you have a baby or a toddler, you can start or continue in our signature Sign & Song classes. We’ll have story time twice each week with stories in ASL on Saturdays and in Spanish on Wednesdays. We’re also bringing back Infant Massage and Music for Tots this summer! Looking for some active classes? We have Sign & Stretch for baby & me and for toddlers; also Adventure Yoga for preK and school age kids. Teens and adults can schedule their own yoga groups with us.
Our ASL Playgroup continues for toddlers – preK and we’re offering ASL Immersion classes for kids of all ages and their families. Our immersion programs are taught by our Deaf mentor who is mom to a Deaf toddler and has her master’s degree in teaching ASL from Gallaudet University. While anyone looking for an immersion experience and bilingualism is more than welcome, we aim to provide a space for families who have Deaf children and/or parents to sign together. In addition to these classes, we’ve added weekly ASL Playdates/Meet Ups and an adult-only ASL Happy Hour.
Tweens and Teens can participate in our immersion classes, weekly LGBTQ Club, Creative Writing workshop, weekly ASL song interpreting… We’re also excited to offer week-long programs for school age, tweens and teens in appropriate age breakdowns, such as Audition Prep for kids who are seeking parts in shows and/or applying to performing arts high schools, or looking for college theater programs. Stories on Stage and Create-a-Play provide more performance opportunities and the option to focus on current events through the arts. Intro to Film gives kids a chance to create a short film of their own; and kids preparing for an art-based high school or college program can schedule their Art Portfolio prep with us! Yoga and fitness, piano and guitar lessons, Improv and Open Mic nights are also available.
And yes, we have special programs for Adults-Only, including Essential Oils week and creating your Family Photo Journal. While many of our programs are not focused on ASL, we will have accessibility for all via our teachers and our summer interns from Gallaudet.
Come once this summer, or once each week – you can even come every day! We know that ‘camp friends are the best friends’ – so gather your besties from camp and join us together this summer… and get ready to meet some new best friends with us at Baby Fingers!
