Summer isn’t just a time for vacations and beaches and sunburns (oh my!)… summer is a prime time for learning, both in the classroom and out.
I remember summers before my kids were old enough to attend camp. I love the memories of evenings in the park, laughter ringing in my ears for hours, exploring the zoo and the playgrounds and the gardens, going to concerts and having picnics, riding the carousel and splashing through the sprinklers or getting caught in a warm rain…and I remember teaching Baby Fingers during the summer, often with my kids in tow.
At Baby Fingers, we offer a host of classes year round so you can continue to bond with your child through sign and song, yoga, and massage. But also be sure to take in the sights! Stop by a garden and show your baby the sign for “flower.” Visit a playground and share the sign for “swing.” Attend a concert in the park where you can practice signing “trees” and “music.” Lay in the grass together and look up at the sky signing “stars,” or “moon.”
So much learning takes place spontaneously, in the moment, when you least expect it! Cherish those moments, savor them, and expand upon them with a gentle touch, a sign, or even a song…Let the world be your classroom and explore together!
